Right thought
It's been ten years since I was introduced to Buddhism and started reading various literature. Only now, little bits and pieces start to make sense sometimes (== I'm able to translate it into the modern/familiar concepts).
Today I finally realized that “right thought” == most mentally healthy and straightforward cognitive transformations that happen on the boundary between the reality/objective and inner/subjective. “Done eating? Wash your bowl” kind of thing. Not “did he wash his bowl?”, not “do I need a new bowl? I saw the latest catalogue of bowls on Instagram”, not “isn’t a bowl a perfect metaphor for our life: perpetually empty and filled only temporarily only to disappear in the most unsatisfying manner and leave us scraping the bottom”. No. Just wash the damn bowl.
